First Aid Kit Program

As emergency medical care exists in close proximity to the institution, the 推荐杏吧原创 campuses (including the contiguous campus grounds, Redfield Campus, Valley Road facilities, Main Station Field Lab, and the 推荐杏吧原创 at Lake Tahoe campus) have a non-mandatory First Aid Kit Program as described by OSHA through a

For this non-mandatory program, departments are welcome to purchase their own first aid kits for the convenience of employees. An example of the minimum contents of generic first aid kits is described in American National Standard (ANSI) Z308.1-2015 "Minimum Requirements for Workplace First Aid Kits and Supplies". These guidelines should be considered when evaluating what supplies to stock the first aid kits. Lists of minimum kit contents from the ANSI Z308.1-2015 standard are included below.

As this is a non-mandatory First Aid Kit Program, departments are also encouraged to develop their own departmental procedures on the use of the items within the first aid kit, including regular inspection of kits and restocking of first aid supplies.

Departments and groups who work in remote areas where a professional emergency response or a healthcare facility is not readily available should have staff onsite adequately trained to render first aid. In this circumstance, adequate first aid supplies must be readily available. EH&S provides CPR training at no cost to members of the University community. Contact the EH&S training manager to explore options for first aid and Wilderness First Aid training.

It should be noted that any injury at work should be reported to a supervisor immediately. Information on the workers' compensation process and contact information for approved clinics can be found on the BCN Workers' Compensation website.
