Conflict of interest

Conflicts of interest arise when financial or other personal considerations have the potential to adversely affect, or have the appearance of adversely affecting, an employee’s professional judgment or to fulfill his or her obligations to the University. Disclosure is the key to successfully managing conflicts of interests.

Export controls & economic sanctions

Fly America Act

The Fly America Act requires that all air travel funded by the U.S. government, including grant and contract funding, utilizes U.S. flag air carriers, or foreign air carriers that code share with a U.S. flag air carrier. The law applies to air travel and cargo transportation services.

Research security

In response to increasing concerns of foreign government interference and exploitation of federally funded research, the U.S. government has recently issued multiple policies aimed at protecting the results of federally funded research. Current and evolving University policies and procedures are explained here and will be updated as federal regulations develop.
