#BlackAtThePack

Mission

#BlackAtThePack was founded in 2020 by Black faculty who have been working together to promote community for ourselves and students. While we have worked to establish this group before recent national events, the time to solidify our unity on this campus is past due and more than urgent. Following Nikki Giovanni’s thoughts, “Black Love is Black Wealth,” we hope to be inclusive in building African Diasporic identities and work toward their expression on campus.

Purpose

#BlackAtThePack works to provide the following:

  1. A sense of community to African Diasporic identifying faculty and staff
  2. A resource guide that gives opportunities for social, personal, and professional growth by connecting African Diasporic identities to locally on campus and broadly in the community
  3. Mentorship and education to African Diasporic identities on campus
  4. Collaboration with university and community members to address issues and concerns facing the community
  5. Opportunities for African Diasporic identities to exist in a higher education setting in various spaces across campus

Resources

The #BlackAtThePack group is starting to build resources for University faculty, staff, and community members. If you would like to suggest additional links, please email our executive board.
