Program services
The 推荐杏吧原创 supports three classic Upward Bound programs and one Upward Bound Math Science program that deliver college preparatory services and support to high-achieving, income-qualified, first-generation high school students. The Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science programs provide year-round academic support and college planning services to 246 students at eight target schools in Washoe and Lyon Counties. Each Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science student meets bimonthly with their grant counselor to develop goals, strategies and skills for academic success and post-secondary readiness.

Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science provides tutoring services on the University campus and at select target high schools. University students and certified teachers provide academic support and resources to help students develop the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in rigorous high school courses and prepare for university level work.

Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science programs provide opportunities for students to develop an understanding of post-secondary options, opportunities, and processes. Students have the ability to explore various campuses through multi-day college tours to in-state and out of state colleges and universities.

The Residential Summer Academy program takes place on the 推荐杏吧原创 campus. Participants in this five to six week program take courses designed to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills in preparation for rigorous high school courses and university level work. Students live in residence halls and gain exposure to campus life and resources. The Upward Bound/UBMS programs pay for all residential meals, housing, and expenses.

Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science students may apply to participate in the University of California, Berkeley Upward Bound Math Science Summer Academy. Participants in this six-week program reside at the UC Berkeley campus and take rigorous math and science courses designed to prepare students for degree programs in STEM fields. All transportation, residential meals, housing, and expenses are covered for participants.

Returning students who have already participated in a residential summer program may elect to participate in an online summer program. Online summer program participants complete web-based ACT and SAT test preparation lessons.
Returning students who have already participated in a residential summer program and meet dual enrollment standards may elect to take a summer dual enrollment course. Dual enrollment courses are offered in partnership with the Truckee Meadows Community College Jump Start program and provide students with the opportunity to dually earn high school and college course credit.
