- Do you think there is value in providing home hosting opportunities and face-to-face contact with international visitors so Nevadans of all ages can better understand the world around them, steering away from stereotypes and fears?
- Have you thought about what our local court, school and social service systems would look like if interpreters in Cantonese, Vietnamese and Korean were no longer available to bridge the language gap?
- NNIC has been addressing these important issues since 1980 when a group of local visionaries established what they then called the International Visitors Council of Northern Nevada. NNIC now serves hundreds of visitors each year, provides educational opportunities for local middle and high school students and offers interesting discussions on global issues on a monthly basis to the community at large, often at no charge.
For over three decades, the Northern Nevada International Center has hosted thousands of international professionals and diplomats from almost every corner of the globe. At our core, the most important aspect of our work involves connecting members of our community to host visiting delegations in their homes, volunteering to aid refugee families, and providing interpretation and translation services to combat cultural stereotypes. Come support us to increase international access of our region to international business, culture and education. We are here to show Nevada to the world and the world to Nevada.
Your gift of $25, $50, $100 or $500 will make a world of difference. We promise you!
