Sierra Nevada University Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Reporting Requirements

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) requires institutions to use no less than 50 percent of the awarded funds received to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to degree seeking students in need due to economic hardship because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sierra Nevada University 30-Day Fund Report

Report date: March 17, 2022

  1. Sierra Nevada College signed and returned the Certification and Agreement to apply for funds from the CARES Act, agreeing to use at least 50% of any funds received to provide direct Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. A second allotment of funds were also provided by the CRRSA Act.
  2. The total amount of funds received from the CARES Act was $276,835. The amount of funds received from the CRRSA Act was $276,835. The amount of funds received from the ARP Act was $758,390. Total awards available for Emergency Student Financial Aid Grants is $1,312,060 to date.
  3. To date $276,835 has been distributed from the CARES Act funding.

  5. To date $758,390 has been distributed from the ARP Act funding.
  6. The estimated number of students eligible for CARES Act grants was approximately 264. Total number of students who have received Emergency Financial Aid Grant from CARES Act to date is 264.
  7. The estimated number of students eligible for the CRRSA Act grant is approximately 519. Total number of students who have received Emergency Financial Aid Grant from CRSSA Act to date is 319.
  8. The estimated number of students eligible for the ARP Act grant is approximately 449. Total number of students who have received Emergency Financial Aid Grant from ARP Act to date is 413.
  9. The University has a dedicated webpage with information and FAQs to address questions and concerns in regards to the grant funds, which also includes access to the application for funding.
