The WRSC is a nationally and internationally recognized research center within the pavement engineering and science (PES) program in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The WRSC assists highway agencies and contractors with new analysis procedures for pavement performance testing. Our laboratory is fully equipped with the state-of-the-art technologies to evaluate the strength and performance properties of paving materials.

WRSC Impact

NDOT and PES collaboration leads to New ASTM International Standard

Working with the Nevada Department of Transportation, the pavement engineering and science program has developed a new ASTM International standard (D8303) that will provide a test method for determining thermal cracking properties of asphalt mixtures.
