- Obtain a waiver documenent from your Nevada National Guard Education Officer.
- Click the link below to complete a short form and upload your Nevada National Guard Waiver document.
- Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming receipt. You will receive a follow-up email when the form is processed.
Please reach out to the Cashiers Office at (775) 784-6915 or cashiersoffice@unr.edu if you have questions.
The Nevada National Guard also provides a textbook reimbursement benefit, which you apply for by submitting a packet at the end of the semester. You must complete a new reimbursement packet for every semester that you wish to use this benefit.
- Visit the .
- Navigate to the Education Benefits heading.
- Select to view all required items for the packet.
- Complete all listed items. Please note that checklist items a. (Textbook Reimbursement Application), e. (State Vendor Registration), and f. (Bank Account Verification Memorandum) are located on the under the Education Benefits heading.
- Once you finish building the packet, email it to your readiness NCO prior to the deadline they established with your unit.
- Follow up with your readiness NCO (if need be) to ensure that your packet is submitted.
- If you do not earn a 2.0 term GPA or better, your tuition waiver for the semester will be revoked and you will owe the university for tuition and fees. This is a Nevada National Guard policy, not a university policy. Please note that you are required to earn a 2.0 term GPA, not a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Additionally, if you are flagged for any reason by your unit, you may have your waiver revoked as well. In this case, you would need to consult your readiness NCO.
- If a deployment/activation interrupts the semester, we recommend that you complete a leave of absence form with Admissions and Records in order to avoid reapplying to the university and maintain active student status while away. The form is found in the Admissions and Records forms section of the University website.
- If you use the tuition waiver in conjunction with Chapter 33, the Veteran Services office cannot bill the VA for tuition covered by the waiver. We will submit your claim to VA for the remaining balance after the waiver is applied.
