Nevada Dining is excited to announce a recent victory in the OZZI Box 2024 Earth Day contest, showcasing their dedication to sustainability and reducing single-use waste on campus.

As part of OZZI's expansive network of over 400 sustainability partners across 49 states and 11 countries, Nevada Dining has embraced the OZZI system, replacing disposable to-go boxes with 100% reusable ones. This initiative has contributed to preventing an estimated 40 million disposable containers from reaching landfills globally, aligning closely with Nevada Dining's commitment to a greener, more sustainable campus.

David Griffith, director of Residential Dining at Nevada Dining, emphasizes the impact of the OZZI program, stating, "We love seeing our students use the program because these boxes are truly a game-changer in eliminating single-use containers."

Since implementing OZZI in spring 2023, Nevada Dining has witnessed over 4500 reusable boxes in use on campus. Available at Pack Place, the dining hall allows students to easily take their meals to go by putting down a deposit for a box, which is refunded upon return, or swapping for a clean box.

By embracing OZZI, Nevada Dining not only reduces its environmental footprint but also sets an example for sustainable practices in the community. The team extends their gratitude to the Wolf Pack for supporting this initiative and contributing to a greener campus.
