Latina entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to engage and connect with other Latina business owners when kicks off its monthly breakfast series on April 28. This free breakfast series will be held the last Friday of each month from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Extension’s North Las Vegas office, 2280 N. McDaniel St.

According to the National Women’s Business Council, Latina-owned businesses comprise one of the fastest growing sectors of national entrepreneurship in the U.S. The goal of this Extension program is to help Latina business owners connect with one another and provide them with educational opportunities and access to resources in Clark County to help them succeed and grow their businesses.

Each month, the program, which will be conducted in Spanish, will feature a guest speaker who will discuss topics that are specifically relevant to Latina entrepreneurs. Adriana Pereya, an attorney who founded Integrity Law Firm in early 2013, is the guest speaker at the April 28 event. Pereya will speak about the effects of immigration on women entrepreneurship.

“This monthly event has great significance for Spanish-speaking women in business to be able to learn, have their voices heard and connect with other women small business owners who speak their native language to share their strengths and challenges, and recognize the impact that they have on our economy in Clark County,” Mike Bindrup, Extension Small Business Education Program coordinator, said.

The monthly series is cosponsored by the Latin Chamber of Commerce Nevada.

“We are so excited to be partnered with Extension in helping Spanish-speaking women business owners network and connect to find new business growth opportunities,” Carlos Gomez, vice president of the Latin Chamber of Commerce Nevada, said.
