After completing his first year as president of the 推荐杏吧原创, Brian Sandoval will deliver the annual State of the University address titled “The 推荐杏吧原创: Nevada’s Greatest Ideal.”
President Sandoval will deliver the address Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. in the Milt Glick Ballroom on the fourth floor of the Joe Crowley Student Union. Registration is required to attend the in-person event. A .
In his address, Sandoval will expand on the themes of student growth, student success and how they relate to future institutional milestones and goals. He will explain why the University will need to broaden its reach, including partnering with other Nevada System of Higher Education institutions to benefit access and the success of future students and provide learning opportunities that go beyond the traditional classroom or laboratory.
A broadened reach will help the University meet the needs of today’s Nevada while also anticipating the needs of the future in a fast-growing and highly diverse state. He also will speak about the longer-range goals of the University, which focus on growing the University’s academic and research standing and increasing the campus’ connectivity to the community.
This year’s State of the University address is President Sandoval’s first after being appointed to the position Sept. 17, 2020, as well as the first such address in two years. It follows the 2019 State of the University delivered by President Marc Johnson, who transitioned to faculty in the summer of 2020. The 2019 theme, “Big Goals Achieved – Realizing Our Vision,” included a hearty congratulations to the Wolf Pack and campus community for reaching the Carnegie Classification of R1 (or Very High Research), achieving an 18-to-1 student-to-teacher classroom ratio, reaching record levels of diversity in the student body, increased graduation rates and much more.
