The Reynolds School of Journalism will host a virtual forum next week with author and former top editor Wanda Lloyd where she will discuss her new memoir “COMING FULL CIRCLE: From Jim Crow to Journalism,” diversity in the media industry and career development. “Wanda Lloyd: What Matters in Media” will take place on Oct. 12 from 4 to 5 p.m. on Zoom and Facebook Live.
Prior to becoming an author, Lloyd was a senior editor at USA Today and an editor at The Washington Post, Miami Herald and the Atlanta Journal. She is also a former associate professor and former chair of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at Savannah State University. Lloyd is currently co-editing a book of essays, “MEETING AT THE TABLE: African American Women Write on Race, Culture and Community,” set to be published in 2020.
"Wanda's record of achievement in a tough business is outstanding," Caesar Andrews, Reynolds School professor and Leonard Distinguished Chair in Media Ethics and Writing, said. "She has great insight into the world of media, and she has a remarkable personal story to share."
