Sheila Bunch is one of The Innevation Center ÍƼöÐÓ°ÉÔ´´’s newest members and is the Director of Education for NCLAB, a company that designs online courses to teach people how to program and model on a computer.
“I used it myself when I was still teaching in a classroom and I just saw how kids took to it,” Bunch said. “They were intense, they were engaged and they were learning and I saw the impact on the rest of their studies.”
NCLAB’s computing curriculum teaches 3D modeling and coding as well as STEM and manufacturing skills. The program uses game-based learning to teach these skills and is designed for classrooms, libraries, homeschoolers and even for working professionals to expand their knowledge and technological skill set.
“They weren’t just learning how to program, they were learning how to think,” Bunch said about the students she used NCLAB programs with.
Bunch has been a Nevada resident for many years and feels that The Innevation Center is a great place to continue growing NCLAB. While NCLAB currently has four programs, they hope to continue to expand their curriculum and hope to someday have 50 programs or more.
“The Innevation Center is a very congenial atmosphere,” said Bunch. “Everyone has been very helpful and it has been great to work so closely with my coworkers.”
When Bunch isn’t utilizing The Innevation Center for work, she enjoys gardening, painting, and hiking. Bunch emphasized that one of her favorite free-time activities is playing video games.
