Student Resources

Undergraduate research opportunities

Our labs accept undergraduate students to assist with research, pending availability. As a learning institution, our value for students to learn techniques and contribute to research is very high. Once accepted into a research lab, you will be mentored by the lab principal investigator (PI) and their lab personnel.

Working in a research lab has many benefits. Many careers are research-based, so gaining research experience is a valuable addition to your resume. You will get opportunities to learn how to perform lab techniques and skills that you read about in textbooks. You will learn how to troubleshoot and solve real-life problems. You will learn what resources are available for solving problems and how to implement them to continue to solve future problems. You will learn the language of science by having discussions with others. You will learn how to think critically, how to look at a problem from many angles, and how to ask the right questions to get the right answers.

For more information regarding our undergraduate research opportunities, see our FAQs.
