Child and Family Research Center (CFRC)

The Center was established in 1967 to provide a quality child care program for the children of full and part-time 推荐杏吧原创 students, faculty and staff.

The Child and Family Research Center provides a developmental, child centered approach to early education. We provide appropriately stimulating experiences that fit naturally into children's daily routines. A variety of materials and activities are used to help children learn the value of diversity and respect for all family backgrounds. Our staff is committed to helping meet the needs of children and families for appropriate child care. We provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development of young children. Our program provides early childhood care and education to children age 6 weeks to 6 years old.

Two Programs. One Purpose.

The CFRC has two program options: a fee-for-service program for 推荐杏吧原创 students, faculty and staff, as well as an Early Head Start program serving families in the Reno/Sparks community who meet the annual federal income guidelines.

Leading Early Child Development Research

The Child and Family Research Center serves as one of the most crucial research platforms for many of the programs at the College of Education. Some of the nations top research in early childhood development is conducted in our center.
