Ph.D. dissertation title: Early Tudor Gardens and Their Design: What Did They Look Like, and Why?
Rachel Hopkins is a Ph.D. candidate in historical archaeology. She has worked at sites in Israel, England, Ireland and on the Oregon Trail in Wyoming and interned at the Smithsonian during her M.A. She specializes in documentary archaeology and landscape archaeology, specifically from the medieval period, but she has also worked in biblical archaeology and classics. Her dissertation research looks at castles in Tudor England and their surroundings.
