Summary
Leah Hummel is a costume and props designer from Chicago, IL. They hold an M.F.A. in Live Design from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.F.A in Theatre Design & Technology from Western Michigan University. Leah is a theatrical designer, drag performer, stitcher and teaching artist. Her work has brought her to regional theaters across the nation, including Strawdog Theatre Company (Jeff Award Nomination), Raven Theatre, The Neo-Futurists, Wilmette Center for the Arts, Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, Texas Theatre & Dance, Zach Theatre, ARCOS Dance Company, Hope Summer Repertory Theater and Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater. As an accessibility coordinator and educator, Leah has taught and facilitated at The University of Texas at Austin, Niles Township, Austin Creative Reuse, Yachad Chicago and the Arc of the Capital Area. Her work has been presented at the 2023 Children’s Youth and Performance Conference in Toronto, Canada and as part of the 2024 University of Texas at Austin’s Graduate Teaching Showcase. Ability-inclusive and process-oriented education is at the core of all their artistic endeavors.
