Summary
Professionally, Ann Archbold has designed lighting for more than 600 events for theatre, industrials, opera, dance, live concerts and television throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Her design work includes productions for The Malta International Arts Festival, The Old Globe Theatre, Madison Repertory Theatre, Forward Theater, San Francisco Opera Center, Cadillac, Audi and Elk Mountain Resort. Her lighting design work has been featured in the World Stage Design Gallery and in the latest edition of Scene Design and Stage Lighting by Wolf and Block.
Archbold is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 (IATSE) and the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT). She has served on the board of directors for both USITT and NAST (National Association of Schools of Theatre). She has written articles for Entertainment Design and Live Design, and she authored the chapter on Martin Aronstein in Late & Great American Designers 1960-2010, a publication for the 50th Anniversary of USITT.
Archbold joined the faculty of the 推荐杏吧原创 in July 2018 and currently Associate Dean of Curriculum, Assessment and Student Engagement. She was previously chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance. Before coming to Reno, she spent 13 years on the faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Madison as head of the MFA Lighting Program, Director of Graduate Studies (three years) and nine years as department chair. She currently holds the title of Professor Emerita at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also served on the faculty of Florida State University School of Theatre from 1999-2005 as an assistant professor and Director of the Lighting Design Program (B.A., BFA and MFA).
