ATMS Ph.D. student Kathleen Clough (Advisor: Dr. Tim Brown) received a $10,000 Robert E. Dickenson Scholarship in recognition of her outstanding academic record and promise of productive scholarship. Kathleen’s research focuses on improving wildfire modeling. She is a contributor and a member of the modeling team for the U.S. Forest Service's longstanding Fire and Smoke Model Evaluation Experiment (FASMEE). She provides forecasting support for prescribed burns and wildfires for various agencies. She has also worked diligently to obtain multiple fire certifications through the Nevada Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and holds a Firefighter Type II Certification.
