Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
April 27, 2023
Dear Wolf Pack Family,
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month offers an opportunity to celebrate the dynamic communities and cultures of a group of people who have enriched and strengthened our University, the state of Nevada, our country as well as the world.
I am incredibly proud of the Asian American and Pacific Islander students, faculty and staff community and the contributions that they make on a daily basis to our University and all of northern Nevada. Their achievements make our University a better and more successful institution.
Upcoming mural unveiling
Just one of the many important events and observances that are being held to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is a mural unveiling that will be held on the University campus on Friday, April 28 at 3 p.m. The mural, which is located in our Multicultural Center on the third floor of the Joe Crowley Student Union, was painted this spring by University graduate Josh Chang. The mural unveiling is one of several events hosted by the University in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
In ways great and small, we can make a difference for the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. When we learn, we come to understand. When we listen, we grow a greater space to care. And when we stand together with the members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community, we are always stronger.
Go Pack!
Sincere regards,
Brian Sandoval
President
