Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

As we raise awareness and celebrate achievements, we must also support all future efforts for equity and acceptance for the members of our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

Dear Wolf Pack Family,

I hope this email finds you well. We are at that point in the year where much has already been accomplished, and there is still much left to do. I hope that over the past few days you’ve had a chance to take a step back from the daily work you’ve done with an eye toward what you have accomplished. The work that our University has done over the past year has been significant. I hope that you have an opportunity to realize that everything that you have done has helped contribute to a highly successful and meaningful academic year. Thank you for the continued excellent work that you are doing, and for caring so much about our University and the people who are a part of it.

During May’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we recognize and celebrate the diversity of experiences, the numerous social and cultural contributions made and the incredible determination that these communities have shown throughout the generations. The students, faculty and staff of our University who are from these communities are vital and valued members of our Wolf Pack Family. As we raise awareness and celebrate achievements, we must also support all future efforts for equity and acceptance for the members of our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

It is my hope that throughout the remainder of this month, and going forward into the future, we can all learn more about the stories, histories and achievements of the members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. The very fact that our campus community already has been so supportive of one another throughout this past year is illustrative of a culture where we value all people and perspectives. Thank you for all of the great work that you are doing on behalf of our wonderful University.

Go Pack!

Sincere regards,

Brian Sandoval
President
