Denim Day
April 26, 2022
Dear Wolf Pack Family,
I hope this message finds you well. I wish to thank you all for the hard work and extra effort that you are putting forth in order to further our University’s mission.
I encourage all of you to wear denim tomorrow, Wednesday, April 27, in support of Denim Day. Denim Day is part of a global movement to expose harmful behaviors and attitudes surrounding sexual assault. For the past 20 years, Peace Over Violence has run its on a Wednesday in April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The Office of the Governor is encouraging Nevadans to join the conversation on Twitter by using #DenimDay.
On our campus, there are a number of important resources available for individuals who are survivors of sexual assault or sexual violence.
The University’s Equal Opportunity and Title IX Office has numerous resources available. In addition, Police Services has victim advocate services for all members of our campus community. Counseling Services as well as our can also provide professional counseling and guidance.
We can all do our part in this effort by contributing to an environment where survivors can be empowered to report sexual assault or sexual violence without fear.
Thank you for all that you are doing on behalf of our University.
Sincere regards,
Brian Sandoval
President
