U.S. News and World Report recognized the College of Education and Human Development's online master's programs in Equity and Diversity in Education and Reading Curriculum and Instruction rank as one of the country's top

Online graduate programs are ranked No. 9 for Western public universities. This spot on the list puts the college firmly in the company of some of the country's best and most prestigious institutions.

"One goal is to be recognized as a world-class college of education and human development, and ranking is one of the factors that demonstrate that we are being recognized as having quality programs," Donald Easton-Brooks, Dean of the College of Education & Human Development, said. "We hope to continually increase our ranking by developing online programs."

The U.S. News and World Report rankings are a mix of variables, including class sizes, peer assessments, student assessments and research contributions. These all play a part in determining how exactly a college is ranked relative to the competition. This ranking accompanies a dedicated effort by faculty at the college to further develop their online teaching methods to be more engaging.

"The college has a top-notch quality online education program as recognized by metrics that look at the level of instruction, engagement with students, and attention to access," Easton-Brooks said. "Part of the process is how professionals at other universities view our program. Given our ranking, this implies that others in the field have great things to say about the online program in our college."

The College of Education and Human Development will soon offer the Master of Education in Educational Leadership online. This innovative, University-district partnership was created to prepare a select cohort of 25 exceptional teachers for educational leadership positions. The deadline for the next cohort is November 1, 2023.

The college’s online graduate programs allow professionals to study the latest research and promising practices while working in a manner that makes sense for busy professionals.
