Nevada Women's Volleyball will have a Hispanic/Latinx Heritage night Saturday, October 15 at 1 p.m. against New Mexico at the Virginia Street Gym. can be purchased on the Nevada Wolf Pack website.

Kendal Stovall: So what does Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month mean to me?

Luz Arreaga: This month is pretty big to me because um I was born in Mexico so my whole family, my friends, I come from a very Latin background.

Ivan Zarate: I'm proud. I'm very proud to be a Hispanic person, a Mexican person in this country. I think it's awesome that we have a whole month dedicated to us.

Kendal Stovall: It’s a huge deal for me. So, my grandmother is actually Latino on my mother's side and she passed away about five years ago and it was her whole identity and I identified with that a lot, actually. Everything I do,  everything I think reminds me of her when it comes to that month.

Ivan Zarate: I was born and raised in Mexico I did not move to the U.S. until I was 16 years old or something like that so you know I have the entire culture behind me and it has given me a lot, I mean it makes me unique in this country and it makes me bring some spice to the culture in America, you know what I mean? And I love it. I love, I'm very proud of where I come from and I'm very proud of of what I have accomplished in this country, in this incredible country, because I am a Hispanic.
