Take3, a dynamic chamber trio that merges classical and pop music with finesse, will astonish audiences of all ages during their visit to Reno Nov. 6-7. Their featured performance will take place on Thursday, Nov. 7, in Nightingale Concert Hall at the ÍƼöÐÓ°ÉÔ´´, as part of the School of the Arts’ 59th Performing Arts Series season.

With rock-star charisma and masterful technique, Take3 pairs classical and contemporary music, such as its electrifying rendition of Imagine Dragons’ “Natural” merged with the “Habanera” aria from Bizet’s opera “Carmen.” Violinist Lindsay Deutsch, cellist Leah Metzler, and pianist Irene Kim each received rigorous tutoring from world-renowned instructors. Deutsch is presently touring internationally with superstar Yanni. Collectively, the musicians have performed at Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and other prestigious venues in the U.S. and abroad. Their diverse repertoire includes Astor Piazzolla’s “Oblivion Tango” and the Latin Grammy-winning hit “Despacito.”

Take3’s visit to Reno will begin with a free and family-friendly performance and discussion at the Downtown Reno Library on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 6-7 p.m. at 301 S. Center St.

The Performing Arts Series concert is Thursday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m., when Take3 will perform for more than 400 audience members in Nightingale Concert Hall. During the 90-minute set, the trio will share its flair for the wild and unexpected, blending genres with conservatory refinement yet infused with the energy of rock and roll. Earlier that day, the internationally recognized violinist, Deutsch, will lead a master class for University violin and viola students.

Take3’s public performance and associated events are part of the ÍƼöÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ School of the Arts 2019-2020 Performing Arts Series season, which includes five shows by distinguished contemporary performers. The series continues on Feb. 27, 2020, with Martha Redbone’s performance of “Bone Hill: The Concert,” and concludes with the Austin, Texas-based bluegrass group, Steel Betty on March 12, 2020.
