Robert Ricklefs, one of the leading ecologists in the world, is featured Thursday, Nov. 13 in the Fall 2014 Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology colloquium series.

Ricklefs, of the University of Missouri at St. Louis, is a leader in understanding diversity of ecological systems at various levels of organization and scales of time and space. He has contributed hundreds of seminal papers in ecology and is also the author of several ecology textbooks.

His talk, "Intrinsic Dynamics of the Regional Community," explores patterns of diversity within large regions of flora and fauna that influence evolutionary diversification as well as the distribution and abundance of species.

His presentation at 4 p.m. will be in Room 104 of the Davidson Mathematics and Science Center.

The runs weekly through the semester. Speakers give one-hour presentations on ecology, evolution, conservation biology and plant/ecosystem science from academic, governmental agencies, and non-profit institutions and organizations.
