Summary

Zanny Marsh, MJM, is a community outreach officer for the 推荐杏吧原创 Sanford Center for Aging. Marsh developed and administered grant and philanthropic-funded community education programs to promote prolonged independence for seniors, identify senior mentors for at-risk children whose primary caregivers are incarcerated and create and enhance senior volunteer service programs. She has developed senior-specific training curriculum for judges, prosecutors and law enforcement and has moderated a statewide conference to address exploitation of vulnerable elder populations and persons with disabilities. She is a former member of the City of Reno Senior Citizen Advisory Board, which advises the City Council on matters relating to senior citizens, promotes and supports senior-oriented special events and collaborative efforts that meet the needs of seniors, and acts as an advocacy body on behalf of older adults in the community. She co-produces a series of television programs for AARP in Reno, Nevada, promoting lifelong education, civic engagement, health and wellness, and public well-being for older adults in Nevada.

A published author and professional communicator, Marsh has written extensively about higher education, civic engagement and community quality of life. Marsh chaired the Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) Quality of Life Taskforce in 2005-2006, which updated quality of life indicators for the first time in five-years and she served as president of Truckee Meadows Tomorrow in 2007. In 2008, Washoe County manager Katy Simon nominated Marsh as the only citizen representative to serve on the Center for Performance Measurement Leadership Committee, part of the International City/County Management Association. Part of the committee's work is to further the integration of citizen-driven community indicators and government performance measurement.
