Summary

My name is Julián Cardona. I hold an MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management (University of Oxford, UK) and an MSc in Public Management and Public Policy (LSE, UK). I am also a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow on Natural Resources Management (U.S. Department of State, University of California Davis ). For most of my professional life, I had the opportunity to work for public and private organizations in Colombia, leading innovative social and environmental projects. In 2016, I made a halt in my professional career to study one of my greatest intellectual passions: water as a fundamental resource for human and environmental development. After that, I worked for The Nature Conservancy on water governance, advising Water Funds in different countries in Latin America and Africa and designing long-term financial mechanisms to secure water resources conservation. At the University of Nevada Reno, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Hydrology with a focus on the governance of groundwater resources. I am a research assistant to Dr. Elizabeth Koebele (Associate Professor - Department of Political Science at the 推荐杏吧原创) who leads different research projects to study collaborative governance in the Colorado River Basin. Building on studies on past and ongoing water governance processes in the Colorado River Basin, my research focuses on studying local/regional experiences of managing groundwater through collaborative governance that contribute to climate adaptation.
