Summary
I am a graduate research assistant at the Desert Research Institute, working under Justin Huntington in the Division of Hydrologic Sciences. We are using the best available science to tackle the big questions surrounding the quantification of evapotranspiration in the Great Basin. Currently, I am working on the state's Nevada Water Initiative project, as well as the U.S. Geological Survey's Saline Lakes project. My interest in hydrology goes back to my upbringing; I am a 5th generation farmer from rural Northern California, and grew up farming with my father. During my undergraduate time at Cal Poly, I studied construction and soil sciences, and guided high adventure trips all over the Sierra Nevada. My capstone project involved designing, fundraising for, and spending a month building a two-story water tower and filtration system in rural Ghana. After graduating, I spent three years working in construction management in San Francisco, before finding my way back to the Sierra to pursue a career in hydrology. I am an avid skier, biker, white-water rafter, backpacker, traveler, and chef.
