Summary
Dr. Hibbard's research spans topics in remote sensing, polar and permafrost processes, planetary geology, and soil science. She primarily works on periglacial and glacial geomorphology on Earth and Mars, as well as characterizing soil engineering properties and assessing cross-country engineering constraints for Department of Defense (DOD) operations. She couples geophysical field techniques (GPR, LiDAR, EMI) with satellite and aerial remote sensing to characterize the surface and near subsurface and explore underlying processes that shape the landscape.
Dr. Hibbard holds a Ph.D. In Geology and Planetary Science from University of Western Ontario, an M.S. in Geology from Temple University, and a B.S. in Geology from the Ohio State University. She also worked as a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow at Jet Propulsion Laboratory bridging the gap between Earth analogue studies and planetary exploration.
