Dylan Morlang

Masters Degree in Hydrogeology

Summary

Hello my name is Dylan, I graduated in 2020 from SUNY Oneonta in upstate New York with a degree in geology. I am currently enrolled in the Hydrologic Sciences Department as a Masters Student and my research focuses on exploring how seismic activity influences physiochemical changes in groundwater. Alongside my educational experiences, I have previously worked as a consultant. While doing so, I was involved with a wide range of projects. These include everything from visual analyses, mine planning efforts, core logging, highwall stability analyses, well abandonment, preliminary siting for mines using GIS, and wetland delineation as well as mitigation creation.

Specific skillsets I have utilized include collecting data, analyzing data, and producing deliverable reports to a wide range of clients. I collected data using fixed, handheld, as well as vehicle mounted, boat, and drone mounted equipment. I conducted surveys using state of the art GPS and LiDAR methods. I developed skills in collecting well water data, developing maps using GIS, and conducting physical inventories for sites across the northeastern United States. Throughout my work, I have gained considerable experience, including the use of a wide range of geotech and survey equipment and software. I also have had a lot of interaction with clients, coworkers, and contractors making me very comfortable and outgoing.
