Learning outcomes

The bachelor of arts degree provides a traditional liberal arts experience through a balanced course of study in the arts, humanities, foreign language, social and natural sciences. The bachelor of science degree is an "expanded major," which provides a more intense experience in mathematics, statistics, computing and science.

Regardless of which option you chose, math and stats majors take courses that cover calculus, linear algebra, statistics and analysis, among other topics. Math majors graduate with the ability to use mathematical concepts and models to solve problems.

In addition to a general emphasis, students can specialize in applied mathematics, discrete mathematics/operations research or statistics.
