Outstanding Senior
The Outstanding Senior Award recognizes graduating students who have excelled academically and have improved leadership in our College.
Congratulations to Anna Zoeters, one of two Outstanding Seniors in Environmental Science! Anna majored in Environmental Science, with an emphasis in Pollution and Environmental Contaminants (B.S.) and a minor in Chemistry. She participated in the UNR Honors Program and recently completed her honors thesis, 鈥淭he Effects of Fire and Grazing on Soil Characteristics in the Great Basin鈥 with Dr. Paul Verburg as her mentor. She is currently working in two labs, the Agricultural Research Service Range Ecology Lab and the Blaszczak Watershed and Stream Ecosystem Ecology Lab. Earlier in her college career Anna interned for a summer at the Castle Lake Research Station. In addition to her coursework and lab work Anna is on the UNR Environmental Club leadership team and volunteers for Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful events. She also spent a semester abroad in Costa Rica through the USAC program. After graduation Anna has a summer position with the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection. Her future plans include hiking the PCT and graduate school.
