Master of Arts in Economics

This program is designed to be a terminal degree for individuals planning to seek employment after graduation in the fields of applied economics, finance, banking, or law, as well as other professions that require analytical and quantitative skills.

This degree emphasizes technical, analytical, and quantitative skills, and provides the flexibility for students to choose a more policy-oriented or applied approach by allowing more electives. This allows the student to gain additional specializations which may help to create a well-rounded and marketable skill set for the competitive economics job market.

All Economics graduate degree programs (MA, MS, and Ph.D.) classify as STEM (CIP Code 45.0603: Econometrics and Quantitative Economics). Students in these degree programs can apply for a 24-month STEM extension (in addition to the 12-month) of F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT).
