Monika Singh

Research Assistant Professor

Summary

Dr. Monika has expertise in Drosophila neurobiology and its utilization as a model to analyze disease-relevant human gene mutations. In Dr Kim’s Lab, her research focuses on 1. the molecular mechanisms of Yippee-like genes in synapse development, which is associated with rare human disorders with peripheral neurological symptoms, and 2. the mechanism of protein localization in axonal development.

Research interests

  • Synapse development
  • Axonal localization of proteins
