Summary

Kanishka is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Nevada Bioinformatics Core, where he is interested in developing and using single-cell multi-omics approaches to better understand neglected infectious diseases.

Kanishka completed his Ph.D. in bioinformatics, a collaborative program between the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. His doctoral research focused on the development of a reproducible workflow for proteogenomics research by integrating genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics data. Prior to his doctoral studies, Kanishka earned his degrees in microbiology from Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College (affiliated to the University of Calcutta).

Outside of the lab, you can find Kanishka enjoying a wide variety of outdoor activities, especially hiking and camping. He also has a passion for watercolor illustrations and photography.
