Earn college credit on our campus while in high school

Dual enrollment courses allow Nevada high school students to take college courses in the University setting that can be used to satisfy both high school graduation and college degree requirements. Courses are taught at the University campus by University faculty.

Dual enrollment allows Nevada high school students to take courses in a university setting and earn college credit, preparing them for their future careers.

What are the benefits of dual enrollment?

  • Get a head start on your college education. Start your college career while still in high school at a Carnegie R1 university. Courses taken through dual enrollment are for college credit and can be used towards a degree at the 推荐杏吧原创 or transferred to another institution. Students may take up to eight credits each semester.
  • Save on tuition. Courses taken through dual enrollment only cost $150* per credit.
  • Take advantage of academic advising. Receive academic advising support through the Exploratory and Pre-Professional Advising Center.
  • Join the University community. Dual enrollment students receive access to University-level courses and facilities such as the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center and Joe Crowley Student Union.

*The 2023-2024 course fee is $150 per credit with an additional $9 per credit technology fee. Additional course fees or costs (e.g., textbooks) may be required.

 

How do you apply for dual enrollment?

To apply for dual enrollment consideration, you must complete the following steps:

Step 3. Submit your immunization records, including two doses of Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) and 1 dose of Tetanus/Diphtheria (Tdap) via our .

Step 4. Submit your high school transcripts to mynevada@unr.edu.

Step 5. Complete your High School Counselor's and/or Vice Principal of Curriculum's and submit it to DualEnrollment@unr.edu.

*If you want your dual enrollment courses to satisfy academic requirements at your high school, you must be endorsed by a high school counselor and/or Vice Principal of Curriculum.
